Would this work for a home server?

Hi all, I have a few spare pennies and fancy setting up my own server for myself and friends to play on.

In terms of hardware I was looking at old HP/Dell workstations and there's a few available on ebay with an i7 7700/16gb ram. Would that be able to handle a server, with a few mods for an absolute max of 4 players?

Thank you in advance.
