Customer service fooled me / chargeback?

Hi all. i have a problem with House of CB. I made an order and wanted to return it, when asking for instructions. Customer service told me I dont have to worry as I have 40 days to do so.

I was confused as I thought its 28, so asked again, and they confirmed 40. When I kade the return on 36th day, they then told me its too late and ghosted me.

This surely warrants a chargeback through credit card company? Or how else to proceed? Got entire correspondence as proof
