Bad experience with Chen
I previously worked with Boundless on an employer-sponsored EB-2 case, and almost nothing progressed during the two years I had available. They never even got started on my PERM. My attorney would ignore emails asking her to correct drafts, and she would only respond after I contacted Boundless support and CC’d my company’s HR. Even then, there was never an apology, and the supposedly “fixed” draft would come back nearly identical to the original version.
Boundless was also responsible for my H-1B lottery registration, but their handling of everything else was so poor that I still worry whether it was filed correctly. At one point, they sent an email saying we had been selected in the H-1B lottery, then later apologized because they had sent it to the wrong people.
Because Boundless was so unhelpful, I am now working with Chen Immigration on an EB-2 NIW. Chen has been much better about communication, since they usually respond within one to three days. However, I keep having to go back and forth with them over my Proposed Endeavor Statement and recommendation letters.
I have asked them to correct several issues, including basic grammatical mistakes, but some of the same errors are still there after four rounds of revisions. They also use wording that sounds awkward or even rude in American English, as though it was written by a non-native speaker. When I raised this concern, they told me that it was standard wording they use to make the letters appropriate.
I do not know how their internal system works, but my assigned attorney has not been very helpful. During the initial phase, she requested a phone call, but the call lasted only about three minutes. She sounded like she just wanted to get it over with, did not raise any concerns about my case, and did not provide any meaningful guidance. I was left wondering what the point of the call was.
Has anyone else had a similar experience with Chen? Is it normal to have to heavily edit the PES and recommendation letters yourself? At this point, am I basically expected to use ChatGPT to fix the grammar and wording?
