Coming back to the game! Advice?

Hi! I've played wizard101 on and off since I was a kid. I've had the same account the entire time, and my highest level wizard is my life wizard at level 64. While I plan to fully keep this account and my items I've collected over the years, I am wondering if it is worth starting with a new wizard and relearning the game. A lot has changed and I feel given I've had this life wizard for so long, I have now missed a good bit of content/routes with it.

Is it worth continuing off this wizard and backpedaling or rearranging it? I would love some tips on how to catch up with all the new game mechanics, any advice, things like that. For key points to make, I haven't dealt at all with spellments or the new pip system. I would also primarily be playing solo!
