I'm 27(m) I'm working in a corporate office (night shift). I have been wanting to talk about this for a long time but I was waiting for point varatum moment🗿, so I don't wanna misjudge the situation.

There is a Anna in my project (he's the oldest member in our project)he's 33 and he's not married/no Gf, he usually hangout with people around 23-28 and they all call him Anna, but I been noticing it's hard for him to fit in there, well you know sometimes he tries hard to make ppl laughs esp girls, cos guys at that group normally does and it's kinda awkward on seeing that. It was like that for a bit, he does stuff like just to fit in , and for the recent weeks I have been seeing him get made fun of a lot, they normally make fun of his age and calling him old and stuff, since he's not married and I can clearly see he has a very low self-esteem esp while talking to girls. I have been noticing this for a while and I had mixed emotions about it cos even after he made fun of all the time, but he still hung out with them, so I was like I'm misjudging the situation.

Then one day the group(just boys) invited me to have tea with them, so I tagged along, at that time I could clearly see this anna was very depressed, he was talking to them about his mom's who's currently sick and stuff and I felt bad for him. I asked him why don't u get married anna, he was like who's gonna marry me and he laughed it off. They guys are laughing with him too and I felt a bit awkward cos it doesn't sound like a joke. People usually do that to shield their feelings, these guys were giving some advice too like stop drinking, since he said he drinks too much.

I'm mentioning some of the things that happened after this as incidents,

Incident 1:

After a few days, it was just the same they still making fun of him and they even made a generative AI pic of him with an actress just to make fun of him in the group chat . I felt soo uncomfortable like bruh, just a few days ago he was talking about "who's gonna marry him" stuff and now these guys are making AI stuff just to make fun of him, it was so uncomfortable to watch for me cos I can clearly see he's getting uncomfortable too. Bruh idk why these ppl are so sadistic, at least those guys, his so called friends could have said something right? But no they the one started it. I really wanted to say something and then I noticed him hanging with them again and doing the usual stuff, so I was mad at him and told myself he deserves them cos bruh at this stage I would have stopped hanging out with them.

Incident 2:

After some days with the same old things happening to him, once at the start of the shift, everyone came except him and one girl started saying stuff like , "that anna looks like he's drunk at work whenever he's coming late to office, I feel like I can smell the alcohol of him and tell other girls to be careful around him and not let him near them" and when he came back he got confronted and he got mad and asked who started the rumour, everyone is pointing at different ppl and they later said we are just making a joke. He was mad at first later decided to hangout with them normally the same freaking day👹(once again I was like he freaking deserve this)

Note: the girl who started the rumour is always close to him like Anna Thangachi's relationship, she always talks to him "anna saaptia" "anna va velia polam stuff"👹

Incident 3:

The recent one, this week he's soo depressed and he barely talks to anyone, it's so obvious that he's depressed even snake mandrakal can't hide this👹. He was not eating well and stopped hanging out with them since yesterday, yesterday they were like "anna, are you okay?" "Lemme order you food", only to end up laughing behind his back, they pointing at eachother like " you order 🫵🏻, nah u can order for anna👉🏻, if you order they will make delicious food for anna", and laughing, tbh none of them really cared about this anna, they just wanted to make fun👹,

And the day went it was hard to sit through bruh, today the same happened, and he didn't go to eat with them, then they were like "anna what's wrong?" " Did I do something?"😵, he was like nothing pa I'm not hungry. It's hard to watch so I left the ODC, when I came back he was talking to the girl who joined recently, looks like she was making fun of him too and he really got pissed👹.

Idk guys but looks like he's gonna be mad now and gonna get back to them again 🤡

The thing is I can see, nvm not only me anyone can see he's very depressed and not liking the way he made fun, esp his age and ppl younger then him making fun of him,its only destroying his self esteem 🗿.

Ik everyone has their own issues, everyone is going through something in their life, but it's not okay to make fun of someone who's clearing not taking it well or getting uncomfortable or very depressed. Idk what to call this behaviour so I mentioned bullying, but it's worse, it feels really sadistic.

I just want to rant about this, if anyone has any opinions please let me know.
