Why didn't Rick create Diane?

So this may be a silly question, but I've been wondering this for ages now.

Why doesn't Rick just sample Beth's DNA, separate out his DNA and use it to make a genetically identical version of Diane?

I don't know much about how DNA works, but this feels like something that should work after enough tests and trials... especially for Rick
