Very complicated theory

Okay I just had a theory for anyone who is willing to read this but it’s a thought I had because of a line said in the new first episode of miraculous secrets. More specially when the narrator, who I assume to be Lila/cerice ( who for this post I will just refer to as Lila) says “time will tell you won’t, for I already know” so it got me thinking, what is she does already know everything because what if Lila is from the future. I know there have already been a lot of theories that she is Manon from the future which I think could be valid but I could a lot of evidence to suggest something else.

So basically my theory is that Lila is from a future time like who came back to ”our time” for a few different reasons. I think mostly to get the ladybug and chat noir miraculous but I think there are a few other reasons. And just to vouch for my credibility, I am currently studying to be a media psychologist so I notice a lot of small things that shows seem to put alot of emphasis on so I will be talking about a few throw away lines and thing that might just seem like nonsense.

Let me go from the first season where Lila appears first comes to the school, she seemingly pops out of nowhere with all of these accomplishments which seems a bit strange but she also comes with a lot of knowledge around the miraculous. She seemed very interested in Adrian for a crush that lasted one episode and what if that was because she knew his dad was hawk moth ( because she’s from the future) it would explain how she knew about the fox miraculous power and had a replica of it exactly even though it had never been seen. Unless she has seen it from her time. Another thing is when she gets akumatised into volpina, hawk moth doesn’t appeal to Lila’s motivations like he does to every one else, je just offers her powers, which I think could mean the whole lying to Adrian about lady bug thing could of been her basically rage baiting lady bug to go off at her so she could get akumatised and start a field between her and lady bug (this will make sense later).

The next big thing I noticed was a lot of stuff in the episode time tagger. Okay first off as we know ninos brother Chris become time tagger in the future, and it made way to much effort to show Lila creating a bond with Chris at the end of that very episode. Almost as if she was already planning for everything (as we know she is insanely well prepared). It also stood out to me how time tagged seemed to have absolutely no intention to help Gabriel as hawk moth even though he could take away his power (proven in the reverse special) and only told hawk moth when he was about to leave the time like in almost and insulting way (the whole “I never said the hawk moth of the future was you” line), so it makes me think that Chris wasn’t motivated by his powers but by loyalty to Lila or something else completely. I think that Lila in the future saw time tagger still fail and decided that she will go back in time herself and manipulate events into happening so she could eventually win.

The lady bug miraculous has the power to help defeat the villain no matter what they try and this changes between timelines, as we see when monarch was using the snake miraculous in that space episode. So I think Lila saw that she couldn’t simply get lady bug and chat noirs miraculous without needing to really outsmart them and setting everything up perfectly. Which is why I think she went so far back in time to manipulate events into favouring her. This would also explain why she seems so calculating all the time and why she’s so patient as if she was playing the really long game (which would make sense both narratively if she was from the future and when thinking bait keeping the show going). Furthermore, her being from the future would explain how she knew so much about the miraculous, the peacock miraculous and its powers and all about Felix and kagami and their existence as senti beings. She also knew so much about how to manipulate everyone from the very start. I also believe that she was wearing a wig from the start, as if she had always been manipulating everything, that’s why when we first saw her with short her, the other characters recognised her from a long time before then.

As we see at the end of hoaxer Lila has overwhelming evidence that Gabriel Greste is monarch and chooses not to release it even though it would completely ruin lady bugs reputations ( seemingly one of her main goals), so I started thinking why not do that unless she knew that it wouldn’t help her. She’s gathering as much information as we can but not really using it so I think it’s all a set up for a different motivation, maybe loyalty to tsusrugi or the secret council or something, I’m not too sure. Also unrelated but I was just thinking in time tagger bunnyx never says anything that confirms ladybug is marinette she sort of just says marinette will lead the team, she talks as if they are two different people on a few occasions like “you will be the leader of the greatest superhero team of all time” and then later saying “ladybug is the greatest hero ever”, just a thought.

In the final episode of season 5 everyone is effected by night tormenters effect up until after Lila had stolen the butterfly miraculous, if she knew about the perfect alliance plan she could of prepared for it and it explain how she managed to not be effected by any of it and let her work on her own plan regardless. Also during this scene I believe that she just didn’t go find the butterfly miraculous, because if she was down there for that long she would of seen or atleast heard marinette with Gabriel, so I believe she was already the owner of the butterfly miraculous and commanded nooroo to bring her the miraculous before she proceeded to go do something with it.

Anyway I think that what happened was Lila has gone back in time to set up the occurrence of many things for an Uknown reason, we’ve seen that the butterfly miraculous can give the power of time travel already so I think that she got the butterfly miraculous in the future and gave herself powers to travel across different time lines to find the one where can she truely get what she wants, and it would mean she has infinite opportunities to figure out what works and what won’t, which is why she would be hiding monarchs identity, or starting a fued with lady bug or doing random things like running for class rep for two different classes ( as seen as Lila and cerise). I also think that this would explain why she has so many different mothers because she was able to come into there’s lives long before the show.

So I believe she has had her butterfly miraculous from the start. We’ve already seen in a few occasions that the same miraculous can exist throughout different time lines. Her having her butterfly miraculous would explain a few things;

1. how in the seasons 2 finale, mayura, volpina was the only villain not crimson, maybe she akumatised herself and was helping to manipulate events to her own volition.
2. It would explain how she was able to do things like climb down that hole in the Agreste mansion.
3. It would explain how when she became chrysalis she already had mastered the butterfly miraculous AND had unlocked powers that Gabriel didn’t.
4. And why Nathalie seemed to have the brooch while talking to the secret council, maybe she had the one from our time and Lila was using the one from hers.

One idea that has been focused a lot on throughout the entire show was the sensitivity and power of the peacock miraculous, in times like the ep ‘ladybug’ and all the focus around it being used for the births of Adrian Felix and kagami. and in seasons 6 they have mentioned a few times the possibility of Felix losing the miraculous. So I believe that in the future, tsurugi will regain the peacock miraculous and use it to make Lila, another perfect daughter who wants the same thing as her mother. Kagami had no idea who Lila was but tsurugi and Lila have seemed very close all seasons and there has been a lot of focus on them as mother and daughter, so maybe they are really related, just not from the current time line. This could also explain why Lila seems to really have tsurugis trust and recourses, and why Lila is so loyal to her and not to the secret council or anything.

maybe the blue light we saw at the end of season 5 was a version of Lila (or multiple) coming from the future to help with the plan, So maybe all the people that seek to be helping Lila are just many of herself, this would explain the “I am everywhere” speech and would explain how Lila herself seems to always be around, almost as if there a more then one of her.

The last things I keep thinking about that I don’t understand is the immense focus on kagami, when is riposte prime she says to lila “I am not your puppet” (maybe a reference to Manon as the puppeteer). In heart fixer when she says “I’ll get the answer to my question” in a way that felt as if she wasn’t talking about ladybugs identity. And what lila would have been doing right after Gabriel’s wish.

So to summarise, I believe that Lila Is a future daughter of tsurugi and has multiple versions of herself running around Paris and not just attempting to unmask ladybug and steal the miraculous, but gather as much information as she can for an unknown reason. This could be why she is so certain that marinette is ladybug but won’t act on it unless she tries to get solid evidence, maybe to prove something to someone in her time which is why she’s learning and finding things out and not just breaking into marinettes room or smth.
