Why is my AC not cooling during this heat wave?

Hi.
I usually keep my apartment very cold and normally set my AC to 65°F (please don’t judge 😂). Right now we’re having a heat wave, with temperatures close to 100°F outside, and my AC doesn’t feel cold at all.

I honestly don’t know much about air conditioners, so please go easy on me. I’m trying to learn.

What can I do to make my apartment cooler? Is there something I’m doing wrong? Should I change the temperature setting, use fans differently, or is it possible that my AC just can’t keep up when it’s this hot outside?

My windows stay closed all the time, and the AC seems to be running, but the air doesn’t feel very cold. I’d really appreciate any advice because I’d like to understand how this works.
