I started playing 3–4 days before White was released and I'm currently level 65. I've completed all Story missions, as well as all Adventure missions (Memory Arc and Trial Arc). I was F2P for most of that time, but I bought the $5 monthly pass about two weeks ago.

Since I was a new player, almost every character had value for my account. I skipped Grimmjow and Soi Fon because I wanted to use those 3–4 days before White came out to prepare a bit, so I could have a clean start.

I wasn't extremely lucky, but I wasn't unlucky either. I pulled White in my third multi, but other characters took me all the way to pity.

One thing I noticed is that, because my account has been progressing so quickly, my resources are constantly empty because I'm always upgrading characters. But I also made the mistake of spending a lot of my Stamina on Stamp farming during my first month instead of farming upgrade materials. So my advice for new players is to use your Stamina for resources and just use your daily 2 free attempts for farming Stamps.

Overall, the start of BSR has been extremely F2P-friendly in my opinion. After 1.5 months, I was able to get the current best Slash and Spirit team (all B0W1 of course), and I still have around 6,700 Jades left, as well as 18 Limited Tickets, while already preparing for TS Ichigo and (possibly) Mayuri.

Honestly, I can't wait for characters to come out that I can skip, so I can finally start building up a bigger stockpile of resources and Jades again.

My thoughts on how F2P-friendly the start of BSR is after 1.5 months
