Hi all!

Having this issue with my iCarTech VX8 head unit in my VW Scirocco.

The Apple CarPlay feature does not work at all. Clicking the "CarPlay" button in the second image does nothing. When my phone is plugged in, it identifies that CarPlay should start and comes up with a black screen showing the black CarPlay logo and a blue loading circle, but it will never load.

I've tried restoring to factory defaults and unfortunately that hasn't worked. I've tried scanning the QR code in one of the images with the system information but again that hasn't done anything. The front of the unit has an SD card slot so I'm wondering whether it's a simple update/config that I need to run to update it to potentially get it working again, however I can't find any trace of a file that I can upload to it. I've managed find the manual online but no luck.

It looks like the company has just disappeared, as the link in the start-up sequence goes to a web domain page. I've tried using the Wayback Machine to try and find some sort of update, but again nothing, so am turning to the power of Reddit for assistance.

I've had a quick browse and can't find a single mention or subreddit post about this head unit, so thought I'd post here with any luck. I bought the car pre-owned and had no clue what brand this head unit was and had to try and identify what it is online.

Does anyone have a config file and steps on how to update this? Would be greatly appreciated!
