How do you answer interview questions about bad grades?
So I got 2 B-s (orgo 1 and biochem 2 woohoo) and a couple Bs in classes like advanced microbiology and physics (same year, balancing those two classes with micro/physics not smart)
My top choice school is a state school in NYC that is very, very well known for roasting your grades in interviews. Now, I know i’m a fucking idiot for screwing up this much, but i’m still gonna shoot my shot lol. I don’t have an II yet, so this is a hypothetical.
How do I respond to the inevitable “so I see you have a couple Bs in the science classes. Thats bad. “ or similar responses. The legit reason is that I did well on the first few tests, and either got complacent or were busy managing volunteering, mcat prep (516, so that’s okay i guess) and shit so didn’t study as well in the second midterms or final, tanking my grade. My BCPM GPA is gonna be a ~3.4 based on my calculations.
That kind of response probably won’t fly well though, so idk what else to say tbh. I did get one B+ and straight As in my last semester, but that transcript didn’t come out till after the primary was submitted. How do you respond to these questions?
