What do you guys think is the issue with writing Winds?

I was thinking maybe him taking away the timeskip it’s like he lost the plot after that. Is it Jon’s parentage? I feel like he pretty much had that figured out and there’s no way he’d change it right? Dany still being in the Dothraki sea? The tower of Joy? The north succession? Keep bringing back dead characters that needs to stay dead (cough cough lady stone heart).

I genuinely can’t fathom 15 years going by without a book I’m trying to understand where he’s stuck and those seem to be the possible options in my opinion. He’s had a massive writers block for years now. The dude can’t even give us house dayne words because he wasn’t satisfied with it. It seems like he’s stuck in every possible way.

Somewhere along the line I was hoping he’d divide winds into a two part book, that seems impossible now I don’t think he’s even writing anymore.
