Reddit's obsession with being Anti-Al is getting too ridiculous now

Discussion

I understand why people are upset about AI generated photos, videos. That's a completely fair criticism. But we've reached a point where some people will personally attack you for using AI at all, even when you're just using it as a tool to make a task more efficient.

For example, I wanted to learn about a player who had just been traded to my team. Instead of spending time opening multiple articles, I used AI to gather sources, summarize the latest news, and give me a quick overview. I then posted a screenshot of that summary on the subreddit to ask people what they thought about the trade.

Almost immediately, the comments weren't about the player or the trade. They were the usual anti ai responses. But that criticism didn't make any sense in this context. The AI wasn't replacing discussion or pretending to be original content it was simply organizing publicly available information into a concise summary so we could discuss the actual topic.

When I pointed that out, the conversation quickly shifted from criticizing AI to making personal attacks against me. At that point, nobody was even talking about the trade anymore. It feels like, for some people, simply mentioning AI is enough to derail the entire discussion, regardless of how it's being used.
