How do I cope with the fact that my family members might have copies of my personal documents against my will?

[Advice Request]

Several years ago, I was able to obtain every copy of my personal documents from them. I considered that a victory. These are people who are very controlling, domineering, and push the narrative that it's in the best interests of those they're controlling to be dependent on them and have their entire lives opened up for sharing with them, so obviously, it's very scary to imagine that my information might be under their control, especially considering things I suspect they've done (but can't prove...of course) in the past using only the information known to them (my birthdate, name, mother's maiden name, and social security number, all of which are known to both of them equally as a confirmed piece of information, and they've demonstrated willingness to use those with other people in the family in the past to the point that they're considered "the caretakers" even when they've been requested to no longer possess that information for various obvious reasons).

Specifically, I was able to arrange for a certified copy of my birth certificate — the only one in existence at that time, as I possess the original copy, as well as my social security card, and refuse to let them go under any circumstances — to enter back into my possession. As far as I knew at that time, I then possessed every copy of my personal information documents and they didn't have any of them.

However, I made the mistake of storing that copy in a place where one of the people in my family knew I would be storing documents. At some point, and I don't know when, it disappeared; it's not there anymore, but it has been replaced with countless certified copies of my parents' birth certificates for some reason, which weren't there before but I digress.

Ultimately, the last remaining personal document of mine disappeared some years ago. It was in my possession and I made sure of it, but now it's gone and I can't account for that. I'm not worried about my ability to get another one, but I am worried about the potential for continued overstepping of their boundaries, and the fact that they still want to dominate me so much as to have potentially repossessed what little information they can have about me as they felt they could have done so.

I have no idea where that copy is now, but it's no longer in my possession. It doesn't worry me whether I can replace it or not, but it does concern me that they believed themselves entitled to that information and, even if I asked them, they'd still believe themselves entitled enough that they'd just say it never even existed so that they'll always have at least 90% of an ability to dominate my life with a single document if they so chose to do.

Do I have any options other than therapy to pretend it didn't happen and that I'm not interacting with them under the threat of their constant and possibly permanent ability to alter the course of my life just because I accidentally allowed them to repossess that identifying document? I don't want to be in a glorified conservatorship by any other name. I'm in my middle ages. I was so proud to have gotten that document back and prevented them access to me. It's been gone for a few years now, and I can get another certified copy easy, but that won't wipe away the thought that one or another of them have the exact document they need to forcibly act in my name if they decide I'm doing something they don't want me doing anymore.
