How to write an unreliable ultra nationalist character?

I’m currently doing a fantasy writing project and my main character is obsessed with the past of his nation and brings it back through lone wolf terrorism. I wrote the character based on yukio Mishima originally and reading his works helps get me into that sort of mindset but I would love advice or ideas on how to sell that viewpoint.
