What are the children like?

Lately, I've had a huge question on my mind. I'm no expert on Elder Scrolls or Skyrim lore, but when a couple is of two races, for example, Altmer and Nord, is the child half-elf and half-Norse? Or is it only one race?

I've noticed a huge diversity of romantic couples in Skyrim, and this question came to me because you only see children of one race.
