So what is bad about people wanting physical copies?

Discussion / Question

Every pro physical post gets bombarded with “well actually you are stupid and should just switch to digital” type comments. Genuinely why do people hate that some love actually having a physical product on their shelf.

I’ve seen time and time again that “oh well pc doesn’t have physical so why aren’t you whining about that?” Well actually one of the big reasons I got a ps5 was to own some of my favorite games physically. I think most people didn’t have an issue with it because consoles exist, it’s another selling point for them. But because Sony is getting rid of them there really won’t be any options for physical games anymore so people are angy now.

Here are some reasons why it’s bad,
1, You are stuck with Sony’s store prices
2, if your account gets hacked and deleted with no way of recovery bye bye collection
3, bye bye to any future delisted games because without physical there will truly be no way to get them. (At least legally)
4, Sony can just take away your license
5, no sharing games

While key discs/cards suck because they have jack shit on the disk they at least let you be able to download the game no matter what happens to your account. I’d still rather there be a playable version on the disc tho and If there is too much for the disc to hold then just use a second disc. I doubt any non online only game is going to use any more than 200gb.

You lose nothing if they keep physical, generally what is the issue with people wanting to own the disk.

Oh and from what I can tell disc rot will be a problem by the time I’m old and balding so I don’t really care cuz I be dead.

Look honestly I just want to have something on my shelf, it’s cool to look at. Idk why so many are absolutely appalled by people wanting physical copies of games other than being annoyed by the posts themselves and not the actual issue.
