Hi folks!

I have the 12,000 BTU Midea Duo Portable Air Conditioner from Costco. I set it up per the instructions, but the unit the room it’s in still isn’t cooling down.

For context, the room it’s in is far smaller than 450sf. I got the big unit specifically so it’d cool a smaller room down faster. I got this unit because I have metal bars outside my windows that don’t account for window AC units. I also have a ceiling fan going.

I’ve kept it set at Cool and High with the swing option on. I check every now and then to feel the air coming out of the unit, and sometimes it’s cold, sometimes it’s the same temperature as the room. I have it set at 60 and have also tried setting it at different temperatures and have noticed no difference.

It’s a new unit, so I don’t think it’s a filter problem. I’ve also moved it away from the wall in case whatever air it’s taking in is somehow “cool” and messing up the sensors. I don’t know how it senses the room temperature.

Has anyone else had this issue, and has anyone else figured out to trouble shoot this? Please help it’s so hot, and I’d like to be able to use my kitchen without dying.

Why is my Midea Duo Portable Air Conditioner not cooling my room?
