Today I booked a Rapido for my commute. When the driver arrived, he had a helmet for himself but didn't provide one for me. I was already trying to book rapido/uber(whatever gets booked first) for almost 15 mins, I was already getting late, so I had no choice but to get going. So I sat anyway.

He was driving super fast at night on roads with poor lighting, doing sudden, jerky braking. Getting frustrated and fearing for my safety, I asked him to drive slower because I didn't have a helmet. He showed me a "thumbs up," and I thought he actually listened.

He hadn't. Even though it was slower than his previous speed, he was still driving way too fast for the conditions.

When the ride finally got over, this guy said: *"Were you scared sitting on the bike? You should not be scared. Even girls are braver than you. I have a female friend who sits on my bike and doesn't wear a helmet, and I drive even faster."*

I am just utterly disappointed by this whole mentality. Like, what goes on in someone's head to think that is a flex? He was proudly boasting about endangering his own friend's life.

It is just exhausting that our safety is put in the hands of people who proudly wear their lack of common sense like a badge of honor.
