Seeking Advice on Where to Stay for 3 Days in the Algarve

My boyfriend & I are visiting Portugal from the US for the first time in early August, with 3 days planned for Algarve.

We are in our mid 30s, enjoy beaches & pools, scenic views, and a little bit of partying. Any advice on where to stay or itinerary in general?
