best primers for drywall affected by cigarette smoke?

I am in the process of getting my childhood home into livable condition so I can move back into it, replacing the drywall is out of the question for now and since I have no plans of selling the home less unforeseeable circumstances occur I really just want to know which primer holds up best before I just walk into Home Depot and buy the first thing they suggest
