I lied on my resume to get my first IT job..
I faked over a year of experience at a company I did work at, but definitely did not do IT at. I do very good at my job so it's not like I didn't have the skills, but I'm not sure if I would've got it otherwise.
I don't want to continue lying as I apply to new jobs and move up in my career, but my current company all have me on LinkedIn, where the fake experience also shows up on. I'm worried correcting this experience to the truth would cause issues at my current job.
I know I got myself into this situation due to a bad choice, but I want to know if anyone else has had this experience. Do I just have to keep going with the lie?
