I wanted to share a grassroots project centered on Byrnihat—the heavily polluted industrial cluster sitting right on the Assam-Meghalaya border.

If you look at the data, the local communities there are dealing with severe air quality issues from ferroalloy and metallurgical plants. Because the pollution crosses state lines, it gets caught in a massive bureaucratic loop where no one takes responsibility.

I wanted to see if a regular citizen could use AI to initiate something meaningful on a small scale. I collaborated with an AI to map out the exact routing path on the central government's grievance portal (CPGRAMS) and draft a solid, actionable complaint demanding a Joint Inter-State Environmental Audit by the CPCB.

The first anchor complaint is successfully submitted and tracked under registration number MOEAF/E/2026/0003732.
