Listening?

When did we get to a point, where nobody seems to listen to what you're actually saying? It feel like it's got to the point, that you're repeating yourself multiple times to someone that isn't paying attention, because it's not about them. I work in a call centre, where a simple yes or no question can't be answered.

I hate repeating myself, and if it's multiple times, I end up missing points that I was making, forget where I was and end up just giving up.

The other day at work, I told everyone I had went to Manchester on the bus and back to see an event in the city centre.

I said "I'm glad I didn't go to London on the bus because it would have been long bus journey and uncomfortable."

Someone response was "You never went to London, you went to Manchester."

"I'm just saying the journey to London would be uncomfortable.

"So, why mention London?"

Like when a customer at work, couldn't understand a word she was saying, and I either thought she was saying Morris Energy or Morrison Energy.

Her response when I asked was it Morris Energy or Morrison was yes."

It took four minutes of the call to get her say like the supermarket.
