advice?

hey! im pretty new to monster high collecting (and honestly doll collecting/customizing in general) but ive always loved the g1 dolls base- the problem… i am a broke college student. any advice on how to thrift dolls for cheaper than maybe average? even if a doll is in kinda rough shape hair and face wise- even clothing wise, as long as all body parts are attached! any tips welcome!
