BBQ and Heat Index

I got free tickets to a bbq today but has anyone else ever eaten a hot dog on the 4th of July? Especially in this heat I’m just not sure it’s worth it. I don’t know how to assess situations to my personal taste and would hate to fumble this opportunity to slack about it on Monday. I guess I could lie? Or I could use the experience of a total stranger who did something similar upwards of 10 years ago. Guys!! I need advice!
