Seeking Advice on Nikon FM Zoom Lens Additions

I am a very passionate novice who has been shooting on a Nikon FM 10 for almost 25 years. I’d like to get a better zoom lens for it, but I am unsure whether every Nikon I’m seeing on the secondary market would be compatible with the FM 10 or not.

Can anyone recommend some good zoom lenses? I like shooting my kids and dogs while active as well as some sports photography. Also, I have a number of miniatures (think like a foosball table) that I would like to get some cool action portraits of.

Lastly, will a NIKKOR lens clip into my FM 10?

Thank you for any assistance or guidance you can offer.
