What's your most offensive take about writing?

Idk if this is gonna get down voted or not but yea what are some opinions you guys have that's not taken likely by people but you firmly believe in it.

I would go first: I think to get successful you gotta follow what readers want, not what you want.

Its basically following the meta. I been writing my own novel and I could say it likely, that good work without some specific tropes wouldn't get wattys. No offense, but yea that how it works. Fantasy, litrpg on other platforms also follow the same meta.
