Eligibility of Kimber's essential plan

Hi everyone, I'm an international student from the class of 2030. I notice that I can use Kimber's plan to waive Fordham's insurance plan, including the essential plan for New York residents. I'm looking for international students who have used this plan. Can I apply for the plan in the first semester? Are there any things to concern about? Feel free to share. Thank you!
