Wtf am I supposed to do with my boss?
Sorry for the long post, I posted on here about this situation but it’s so odd that I decided to transcribe the text conversation so you guys have context for this cause I’m honestly lost for words and action.
Me. Hey just wanted to let you know I'm still taking care of my grandpa, and I won't be able to reliably make it into work.
Because of that, I need to resign from my position, I really appreciate working with you and I'm sorry for the inconvenience.
Boss: In order to get your last paycheck I need the key back and for you to make your register count correct bc you were short $80
Me: I'll return the key, can you show the calculations that resulted in the $80 number
Boss: Yes *blank* can show you
Monday. She handles all of that
Me: I want my final wages paid in full. I do not consent to any withholding or deduction from my final paycheck for an alleged register shortage. If you claim the alleged $80, provide the written, itemized calculation showing how the $80 was determined and the underlying documentation used to determine ite can bring the paperwork Monday but I need to receive my check in full before any withholdings or deductions are made since I did not authorize any deduction from my wages.
Boss: Absolutely. We have everything documented. I can also make police reports of the amount short on the registers when you come drop off your key which is property of
And show them and yoi the amount that was shown that should have been deposited along with what was deposited.
Like I said, we can show you all of this in person upon returning your key And in the State of Texas a verbal agreement is an abiding agreement. You agreed to work here and which also has it written in the employee Handbook the regulations. Even though you didnt sign, you still agreed to be an employee with given information. You only resigned because if your grandpa, not because of our regulations.
Me: I understand you can report suspected issues to police, and I'm not preventing that but I'm still requesting documentation and my final paycheck in full.
Separately, If you intend to claim any money from me, please provide the written, itemized calculation showing how the $80 was determined and the supporting documentation. Otherwise, I will be picking up my final paycheck in full.
Also I want to be transparent, any conversation about a verbal agreement' doesn't change my request.
Boss: Absolutely. I already said we will be showing you everything.
I even told Mina will be getting all of the information on Monday. I never said we weren't going to show you or didnt have that information. Its not exactly $80, but your last few days you worked, you were off by around $20 a day.
We will also be reviewing the cameras tomorrow to see what went wrong during those shifts.
Im not accusing you of theft, but seeing how your counts were constantly inconsistent with what was reported for your drop. But yes, an itemized report will be provided.
Boss: We have pictures of what you deposited, what you wrote down what you were depositing, and the actual amount that should have been deposited. She will be pulling up every one of your deleted items &
transactions, paid transactions, along with your shift progress reports tomorrow. Whats your address. Once you return your key, we'll mail you your paycheck. Thanks for ripping us off. It just shows lack of character on you to not pay what you messed up on.
Then she sent a picture of the deposits and the math only came out to 66 dollars, I’m so lost for words and need a little bit of guidance
