How magical is your world?

Pertaining to DnD and similar worlds, how common is simple magic? If I poll a random sample of your citizens, how many can cast a cantrip? Is there an even more mundane step down that unexceptional people might develop or learn?

For me, it's probably 1 in a 100 for a cantrip and I do have a few blessings or curses the norms might pick up.
