My Experience Going Makeup-Free in Public
I decided to do this random little experiment and go completely makeup-free in public for a week. No concealer, no mascara, no "just a little bit so I don't look tired" stuff either. Literally nothing.
Day one felt kinda weird ngl. I walked into a coffee shop and instantly thought everyone was staring at me. Like somehow there was a giant flashing sign over my head saying "SHE HAS DARK CIRCLES." My brain was doing way too much.
But after like two days I started noticing something kinda funny... nobody cared. Like at all. People still held doors open, still talked to me normally, still existed without analyzing my face under a microscope. Crazy concept lol.
The weirdest part wasn't other people though, it was me. I realized I was the one being super critical. I had gotten so used to "fixing" little things before leaving the house that my bare face started feeling unfinished.
By the end of the week I actually liked it. Not in some life-changing "I discovered my true self" kinda way lol, but it felt chill. Less time getting ready, less checking mirrors every five seconds.
I still wear makeup sometimes because it's fun, but now it feels more like a choice and less like part of the uniform.
