I wish someone had warned me about cheap bedding

I used to think bedding was the easiest place to save money.

My logic was simple: if it covers the bed, it does the job. So I'd always grab the cheapest sheet set or comforter I could find and never thought twice about it.

At first everything seemed fine.

Then after a couple months, the sheets started feeling rough, little fabric pills showed up everywhere, and the fitted sheet would somehow pop off the corners every other night. The comforter also trapped a ton of heat, so I'd wake up kicking it off at like 3 a.m.

The annoying part wasn't that it fell apart overnight. It slowly got worse, so I just kept putting up with it.

Eventually I bought a slightly better set not super expensive, just decent quality and it lasted way longer. It stayed softer after washing, actually fit the mattress properly, and I wasn't constantly fixing the bed every morning.

Looking back, I probably spent more replacing cheap bedding over and over than if I'd just bought something decent the first time.

I'm not saying everyone needs luxury bedding or anything like that. But there's definitely a point where "cheap" stops being a bargain and just becomes annoying.

Wish someone had told me that years ago. It would've saved me money... and a lot of midnight battles with a fitted sheet that refused to stay put.
