What counts as assault?

I had an experience the other day and I am looking for clarity on it. I don’t know what to consider this as but it was a situation I haven’t been able to get off my mind for the past couple days because I’m not sure what to make of it. I was very intoxicated (I’m not a person who blacks out or forgets things while intoxicated, so im sure that this happened) and sitting with this guy, who I had previously kissed, but while sitting with him I expressed that I didn’t want to kiss him at that moment or have him touch me or anything, and when he did i told him to stop at least 3 times. He kept trying to make me kiss him (by grabbing my head) though and got agitated when I wouldn’t. He was also touching my thighs and stuff and trying to pull me closer to him. He walked off after I put up enough of a fight, thankfully, but I fear that if we weren’t in a public area he would have tried to go further with me against my will. It left me really rattled and scared for the rest of the night (considering I had also dropped acid for the very first time that evening). He’s a lot stronger than me (but we are the same age) and bigger in size, and he was also a lot more sober. There was also an instance anout a week and a half before where I was really drunk and he was almost fully sober and we had made out a lot but I’m not questioning that at all because I was willing to do it and I liked it. I’m sorry for such an intense question, I just desperately need advice on this.
