Struggling to find groups

I’m a young woman with a hobby interest in history and I’ve really wanted to get into reenactment for some time now. I live in a very history rich area (greater Boston, although not Lexington and Concord area, or Plymouth area) yet I’ve struggled to find any group. Searched Facebook, Google, local history societies, local small museum websites, Reddit, all kinds of websites with directories, nothing.

I think colonial/revolutionary period would be best given the kind of history of my area, and I’m most interested in those periods too. But I’ve been struggling to find any groups. I don’t know where else I could look.

I’m also a total beginner. I love history and study my own family history as a hobby (including learning about their daily lives, down to the finest detail I can find), so I’d love to learn, but the group would have to be open to a newbie who’s learning the ropes of putting what I know into reenactment.

I’m in western Norfolk County in case anyone knows of any specific groups or people I could contact. Lexington/Concord/Plymouth are too far.
