Compaq lte 4/75 floppy drive repair advice

Hi, I've got a compaq lte 4/75 I'm working on and the floppy drive isn't working on it. I know it's taking power because the machine won't boot without reading the drive as working. But when I put a disc into the drive it makes a horrible grinding noise and won't eject the disc. I've already replaced the belt, which at first I thought might be causing interference. So any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
