Is it unreasonable to desire engaging solo combat/content in an MMO?

[Discussion]

Hello all,

I recently came back to the game, and due to my off-hours play schedule and a few other considerations, I've been playing entirely solo (actually alone not "alone, but together" MMO style).

So far, I've managed to solo most dungeons, T4 fractals, and open-world legendary enemies, and it has actually been a blast! What I find most interesting is the sheer variety of utilities and builds I play to make these things doable. Back when I used to play in groups, you generally just ran your standard build and made very few changes from encounter to encounter unless you were trying to be extremely optimal. As a Guardian main, the versatility of the class has allowed me to dive into traits and utilities I had never even touched before in PvE.

My main gripe is that while a lot of this content is possible to solo, it gets incredibly frustrating when you hit a wall that simply cannot be bypassed without a group or without resorting to egregious, game-breaking bug abuses.

Do you think it's unreasonable to want content specifically designed for high-skill, high-effort solo play?
