Puppy Breeder Scammer

Just wanted to post somewhere and let people know that Stephanie A. Gruninger on facebook is a scammer.

Unfortunately I didn’t dig super deep into her background until I personally got scammed by her - so hopefully this will help someone else in the future.

She is posting in puppy rehoming groups across the country claiming to be a dachshund breeder. I reached out to her on the group titled Puppies for Adoption in Washington. After this scam occurred, I have found at least 5 different rehoming groups that she has posted in, all in different states. She posts the same 2 puppies every single time.

Initial contact with her seemed super legit. We did an application to get selected and then proceeded with the deposit and contract. We had scheduled a date to meet the puppy and on that date we were to pay the remaining fee. It got fishy immediately after the deposit when she gave me two different zelle accounts to send the remaining money to, both of which were not under her name.

I reached out to a few other people in the group that had commented on her posts and found that they were promised the same dog that I had been promised. Upon discovering that she was scamming me and several other people, I called her out and she blocked me. Not surprised, luckily I was able to report the charge to my bank and get it resolved.

I have reason to believe that her name is not even Stephanie. I put the phone number that she gave me for the zelle into google and it came up registered to a man named AJ. Also, I believe that everyone that is an admin on this group are not real either.
