I built a free Chrome extension to stop re-posting my classified ads by hand — now looking for feedback
Hey r/SideProject,
I sell stuff on Kleinanzeigen (Germany's biggest classifieds site, like Craigslist / FB Marketplace), and one thing always annoyed me: your ads slowly sink down the search results over time, and to get them back to the top you have to manually delete and re-create each one. With a bunch of listings, that's a lot of tedious copy-pasting.
So I built AnzeigenBoost — a free Chrome extension that re-posts an existing ad in one click. It carries over the title, description, price, category, and photos, so the listing jumps back to the top automatically. I also added some AI helpers along the way: generate ad text from a photo, reply templates, photo feedback, and price suggestions.
It's live on the Chrome Web Store now (free, no subscription). I actually use it daily for my own ads, which has been the best part — building something I genuinely use.
The stack, if anyone's curious: Chrome extension (MV3, content scripts + chrome.scripting) + a NestJS backend, with AI via OpenRouter. The trickiest part was reliably re-filling Kleinanzeigen's dynamic ad form (category-dependent fields) without breaking — a lot of trial and error there.
I'd love feedback:
- If you've built browser extensions — any tips on getting the first users?
- General first-impression / UX feedback on the listing.
- (And if you happen to sell on Kleinanzeigen — I'd really love you to try it!)
