Why I finally replaced every old pillow in the house
I found an old pillow in the guest room the other day and realized it had probably been around longer than some of my friendships.
That kinda sent me down a rabbit hole.
I started checking the rest of the house and... wow. We had pillows that were flat as pancakes, lumpy in weird spots, and somehow still hanging around because nobody ever thought to replace them.
I guess I always treated pillows like they lasted forever. If they weren't ripped, they were "still good."
I finally replaced the oldest ones, mostly because they looked sad more than anything.
The difference surprised me way more than I expected.
Not just on my bed, but even the guest room felt fresher. My main pillow actually held its shape through the night instead of turning into a folded-up blob under my head by morning.
It also made me realize how easily you get used to stuff wearing out. You adapt so slowly that you don't notice how uncomfortable something has become until you replace it.
Now I have a rough reminder to check pillows every so often instead of waiting until they're completely falling apart.
Anyone else keep household stuff way longer than they probably should? I swear pillows are one of those things people forget about for years.
