I had a plan to get an avenger (either street/cruise) for my commute along with occasional long rides. I've seen many people praise the bike for it's ride comfort, cheaper price tag and cheaper maintenance cost. But I haven't seen many of them on roads especially the newer models ( I mean the 2018/19 updated ones). I've seen more meteor 350s, hness 350s, classic 350s and similar 2 wheelers more than avengers.

I test rode a latest avenger 220 street, honda cb 350c, hness, RE meteor 350 and I couldn't find any issue with the way avenger rode. It was a big bike and photos or direct view doesn't do justice. You'll have to sit on it to feel it's size (that's what she said). It also behaves like a commuter and no long stroke thingy in it. It was a good normal ride with nothing much to point out.

And about other bikes, I liked hness more than cb350 and then comes avenger and then meteor. Hness was so easy to handle, and the refinement was good. I ride an electric scooter so no amount of refinement feels ultimate for me. CB 350c was smooth too, but harder to handle and feels weighty. Tall gearing didn't bother me, and felt like riding a cb dazzler(which i previously had). I liked them both and preferred cb350c due to its wider seat, but people online complaining about high service and parts cost, rusting is pushing me away. My heart wants it but my pocket doesn't allow.

Meteor was easier to handle too but the test ride bike probably due to poor maintenance, had no half clutch which was also harder and high vibrations in idle traffic (Do remember test ride cb350s were way smoother) Still it was my choice because of lower hit on pocket after sales. I liked the blue colour too.

When i discussed about avenger to my parents, each and every person in my family, relatives and family friends said no. They asked me if it's sooo good, why aren't we seeing them more on the road whether it's new or old. Can anybody point of why isn't it anybody's choice? Why would they go for meteor or something else if this was such a good value for money proposition? Is it the resale value? Is it bad quality? Is it poor service? I couldn't answer when my parents asked me, can you?

Why can't we see more bajaj avengers on road if it's a good bike and cheap to maintain?
