Need Help

Hey all, so I’m in a bit of a dilemma right now and I hope that many of you would hear me out on this.

As of today, I am running my services via rootless podman pods on my main and only laptop which I also use on the daily. Starting off with this fact so you’d immediately notice the red flags. Yes, it’s gonna have significant downtime, yes, my data is stored on a subdirectory on my home directory, yes they are on the same OS, and no, I did not utilize VMs.

I’m in for about a month now but my stack is pretty lean I suppose as I have only the following services running:
⁃ Immich
⁃ Navidrome
⁃ Explo
⁃ Vaultwarden
⁃ CouchDB (for obsidian livesync)
⁃ An HTTP server for my,
⁃ Personal website
⁃ Umami
⁃ Caddy
⁃ Crowdsec
⁃ Cloudflared

I am planning to soon get dedicated hardware, in which I will be able to procure in about a few months or by next year, just until I get a hold of my finances.

So I am thinking of temporarily stopping selfhosting these services for now, because I am worried that a mismatch in syncing, especially with obsidian livesync, could cause a corruption and potentially could cost me my files.

I guess Immich was only there so I could offload media from my phone to my laptop, and I can go back to OneDrive.

Vaultwarden would still work locally on each device even if the service is down plus it wouldn’t really hurt if I go back to Bitwarden.

Navidrome and explo is only the service I really think I couldn’t live without because of the subscription fees of music streaming services these days.

My website and umami is more of a medium risk also because it’s public facing and I get visitors there reading my blogs when they find it.

So my dilemma is, should I stop selfhosting for now and go back to online services, or should I just continue on because moving all of these data e.g. to onedrive or vaultwarden to bitwarden etc, would be a hassle to do so and reverse again when I buy the hardware?

Sorry if this pisses off some people, I know I have bad decisions :((
