Feeling conflicted after ghosting after 5 dates.
So on my 5th date with this guy we went home together for the first time. At one point he said something under his breath that was fucked up (about my body I think but can't be sure). At the time, I thought surely he didn't say that and I was imagining it because it's such a psychotic thing to do. The next day, I'm 90% sure he did say it. Why would I imagine that?
I decided to ghost instead of bringing it up with him. How would you even bring that up over text? His texting wasn't as responsive the next day. He was still texting but I wondered was he fading me out. We didn't have sex thankfully but I know some guys will bail after sex sometimes, even after 5 dates.
I'm conflicted because I normally hate the concept of ghosting. People don't deal with conflict or resolve things. Part of me thinks maybe I'd get some closure if I had brought it up but I think he would just deny saying it. Part of me is also just sad because I liked him and wished he didn't say that but I can't deny that that's obviously his true character. I knew anything between me and him would probably be a fling because it wouldn't work out long-term and was fine with that. But I'm not going to have a fling with someone that insults me.
Maybe he wont connect the two things and think I just ghosted because I was no longer interested. And that will just influence him to ghost someone himself. I feel like I'm perpetuating the cycle. But on the other hand, do I need the hassle in my life of bringing it up and it's awkward to do over text. I don't feel comfortable typing out here exactly what happened so don't want to over text to him. I haven't even told my friends because I'm so embarrassed.
Should I leave it or say something to the guy?
(Normally I would never ghost, even after 1 date and always have a rule to send a nice text ending things but this is a different situation)
