What is up with the matchmaking?

Discussion

I mostly play roam, gold lane, and mid. But I started noticing that after hitting 25 stars and the new season started, the system began giving me 1-2 newbies and one player with 75+ stars on my team. Meanwhile, almost the entire enemy team has 30+ stars. I mean, a single 75+ star player can't carry the game if their teammates are weak and lose T2 and T3 turrets by the 10-minute mark, even while playing 1v1.

Here is a recent match:

My team:

  • Me: 25 stars (600 matches)
  • EXP: 31 stars (2400 matches)
  • Mid: 141 stars (4600 matches)
  • Gold: Legend 3 (1500 matches)
  • Jungler: Legend 5 (700 matches)

Enemy team:

  • Mid: 39 stars (1800 matches)
  • Gold: 45 stars (1200 matches)
  • Jungler: 47 stars (4600 matches)
  • Roam: 111 stars (18000 matches)
  • EXP: 23 stars (3200 matches)

So, you see what I mean, right? And it's not even like their jungler and EXP laner were that good. Their jungler completely missed all of his skills and ultimate on me when I was just a level 2 Minotaur, and their EXP laner kept diving solo into a crowd of enemies on his Lapu-Lapu.

The only ones who did well on our team were the EXP laner and a super-selfish mid laner who just kept dying somewhere in a lane while farming minions.

I don't blame the newcomers, but maybe the game could create lobbies consisting only of newcomers instead of a mix like this?
