Some thoughts after the Fiji Wales game
Bit confused why some fans online have been criticising Edwards after this one, yeah his kicking wasn't great but in the game itself I thought his positioning in attack was much better and his tackling was improved too compared to other Wales games. I'm a Costelow truther and while he didn't do anything wrong when he came on I don't think he did much better than Edwards, other than his kicking. Tomos' little dink over the top towards the end was nice and were Edwards on he probably would've finished it since he's got more pace than Sammy.
Josh Adams is still Wales' best winger, cum fite me irl. LRZ seemed off the pace and Mee was an improvement when he came on, seemed all over the pitch at times and closed down space well.
Carre is aging like a fine wine, Warren held up well, both front rows were good really but the next two games should be the real tests for them.
The multiple playmaker system seems to be coming together with Hawkins and Murray regularly sitting at first and second receiver throughout, both had some good kicks in play with Hawkins' kick for Adams' try being a stand out.
I really don't know who I'd rather start at 6 between Botham or Mann, probably Botham and Plumtree on the bench but it's marginal.
Finally I think we need to start casting the net a bit wider at 9 since it's clear Hardy and RMW aren't going to get any meaningful game time, we might as well start on the next generation of nines. Get Che Hope and Archie Hughes in so they can benefit from being in that environment. Can't imagine Tomos is too far off either hanging up his boots or taking a Top14 pay rise in return for international retirement and right now we're fucked if he does that.
