186 DE having not had a visa before
Hi everyone, back in April I lodged a 186 DE visa application for a job as a University Lecturer.
I’ve been lurking on the subreddit for a while now to get an idea of how long it takes most people get their visas approved, but I couldn’t find any posts from people explicitly in the same situation as myself - namely that I have never been to Aus before, or had a temporary visa (In fact I’m from the UK and have only ever lived here), but have had to apply straight for a permanent visa.
Does anyone know if this is likely to delay the decision making process at all? Or would having less history in Aus actually mean there’s less to check and speed things up slightly? I’m aware the waiting times are currently 9-12 months, so I’m not expecting anything to happen soon.
Would love to hear of anyone else’s experience! Thanks
