Steam Machine as a desktop question...

I currently use a Steam Deck as my main "gaming pc"/desktop. One thing that annoys me a bit is that it always start up in the big picture mode so I always have to switch to desktop manually. Since many people are going to use SM as a desktop, is there a setting we can change so it doesn't open the big picture mode when booting?
