Issue with key fob and alarm on 2021 Palisade

I have a 2021 Palisade that does NOT have push button start. My key fob is dead so I cannot remotely lock or unlock the car. I use the key to manually unlock the car at the driver door but then the alarm goes off. I can't figure out how to turn the alarm off. Inserting the key into the ignition and attempting to turn the car on does not work. Alarm continues blaring and the car doesn't turn on. Any ideas?

Side note: what's up with the fob battery? I have replaced it multiple times with name-brand batteries and it just dies like a week or two later.
