Schism's terrible troubles (part 2)

Basement Lore

Schi liked this place.

It was nice. The green pastures stretched into infinity, and was lightly dotted with far-off sisyphean Insurrectionists wandering around like lost sheep.

Schi sniffled. No wonder orinn lived here...no, he had to focus on the job. He needed to find him...but how?

...

After bumbling around the fields like an idiot for actual hours, Schi finally bumped into a sisyphean insurrectionist. Quite literally, in fact.

"OOGH-TFKH!"

*GURGLE?*

Schi frowned (metaphorically, of course.) in displeasure. How irritating, at the very least the grass is quite soft and-

Schi stood up.

"...you...seen orinn..?"

*...gurgle.*

Tsk. No luck here, the disgruntled schism thought. He would have to scour the lands himself.

...

Finally, Schi found what he was searching for! Or close to it. A towering slab of brutalist architecture stood in front of it. Some people would complain about the lack of aesthetics or even the sloppy craftsmanship, but schisms were not people. At least, not in the traditional sense.

Schi shivered as he stared at it, bad memories bubbling up. The cancer room, he mumbled grimly.

It was a good establishment...apart from the fact that spending any more than 30 minutes in there would have frankly devastating and downright fatal effects. Schi wondered how orinn was able to stay there seemingly unaffected and even enjoying the prolonged duration with radiation.

Schi pressed on. If the cancer room was nearby...Orinn's house would be, too.

...

Schi spotted a tiny miserable cement-and-concrete block near the cancer room. He closed the distance with the tiny house and knocked at the pathetic purple-painted clump of wood with his right-arm cannon, his skull tilting up from the action.

Schi was starting to think that the wood was in fact a part of the wall when the door slowly creaked open to reveal...a pitch-dark room.

He sighs and feels around the inside walls of the room until he finally find the light switch and flips it up.

"...uogh."

Schi stared at Orinn's sad little mattress along with other sleeping utensils and promptly ignored it in favour of exploring the room more. A big desk was cluttered with all sorts of things, like meat, electronics, a petri dish with some blue stuff in it and...

...a brain in a jar, connected to an old boxy computer. Now that*, was absolutely none of schi's business. A quick 360° proved to the schism that there was little left to study, and frankly he was certain that orinn had strangely been gone since most of the room was coated in a fine layer of dust.*

Schi exited the shameful shack, but not before plunging the offensive insides into darkness yet again. Perhaps a little more wandering these far fields might bring something he needs to find orin...
