House/home anxiety
I’m not even really sure what I mean by this, but I’m having a lot of anxiety… restlessness? Mental discomfort? Idk… over my home as I’m getting slowly through the second trimester.
I think the main source of my feelings is the knowledge that around October/November of this year, wife and I will be moving houses. I’m due in December. The move will be to one of two houses quite literally down the road, but one house is far more preferable than the other. I’m excited, of course, mainly because our current house is a two-bedroom and the two house options are both three-bedroom and have more room besides that.
The issue is that the waiting is killing me, I no longer feel that “this is home” attachment towards our current house that we’ve lived in for three years. So my nesting energy feels redundant and pointless, and I have a LOT of nesting energy.
It’s too early to pack, and there’s always the possibility of something unforeseen happening and the move not happening (it’s not set in stone right now. It’s a complicated situation- we live on-site in a state park as my wife is a ranger and they’re building a new ranger house, so we will either be moving into the new house or into the one left vacant if the other ranger moves into the new one). So I’m just this ball of nerves and nothing is calming me down.
I am someone who is a huge homebody and having a cozy home and “roots” put down is so important to me. I do work but in my heart I’m a homemaker. So this situation plus my hormones is driving me CRAZY on the daily!
Has anyone been in a similar kind of precarious-feeling situation while pregnant? I don’t know how to deal with these feelings and I feel like my only option is just suffering through until we get confirmation and can start packing.
I try not to think about it and put it out of my mind but it has caused a lot of emotional unsteadiness in me that I have a hard time ignoring. 😔
